From the Mind of an Apostate...

Spirituality concerns itself with the matters of the spirit, a concept closely tied to religious beliefs and faith, a transcendent reality, or one or more deities. Spiritual matters are thus matters regarding humankind's ultimate nature and purpose, not only as material biological organisms, but as beings with a unique relationship to that which is perceived to be beyond both time and the material world. Spirituality also implies the mind-body dichotomy, which indicates a separation between the body and the soul. That impies a disparity between spirituality and religion. Having a belief system-religion-does not make one spiritual. The more that people make their thoughts/beliefs into their identity the further that they are from the spiritual dimension within themselves.

"Religious" people equate truth with thought, and they are completely identified with thoughts/their mind, they claim to be in sole possession of the truth in an unconscious attempt to protect their identity, not realizing the limitations of thought. Unless one believes/thinks exactly as they do, one is wrong in their eyes. Not too long ago, they would have felt justified in killing one for that and some still do even now. This is the ego. The ego that hardens doctrinal positions and staunchly opposes a new consciousness or PROGRESSION.

The ego and all of its ossified structures, whether religion, government, or corporations, are destined to disintegrate from within. The most rigid, most impervious to change, will collapse first such as in the case of Soviet Communism. Deeply entrenched, solid, monolithic, disintegrated.
